Our current batch of Crushed Malted Wheat (2025) is made from Barrel, a winter wheat once widely grown across Scotland for its quality and versatility. From 2026, we’ll move to Bamford, a new variety recognised for its exceptional yield and quality, ensuring continued consistency.

 

Our malted wheat is ideal for brewing or adding a rich, malty flavour to your baking. It can be sprinkled on top for texture or mixed throughout your dough for added depth. While it enhances bread mixes beautifully, beginners should start by adding no more than 5% of the total flour weight to ensure a balanced dough. With a 100% extraction rate, it retains all the natural goodness of the grain. Each 100g contains around 8.2g of fibre and 11.9g of protein, bringing both flavour and nutrition.

 

Best before: 6 months from milling.

Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place.
