This flour is currently made from the variety Barrel (2025), a once-popular Group 3 British winter wheat known for producing high-quality flour. In 2026, we will transition to Bamford, a variety recognised for its exceptional yield, ensuring continued quality and consistency.
With a fine texture and neutral flavour, this flour is a dependable all-rounder, offering a soft, smooth texture that’s perfect for a variety of baking needs. Mungoswells Plain Flour is best suited for light, fluffy bakes, including cakes, pastries, scones, biscuits, and more. This flour has a 72% extraction rate, balancing performance with flavour. With 4.6g of fibre per 100g and 9.6g of protein per 100g, it delivers reliable results in every bake.
Best used within 6 months of milling. Store in a cool, dry place.
